70-Year-Old Woman Gets 8 Surgeries in One Go – To Heal More Than Just Her Body
A 70-year-old woman has opened up about why she chose to undergo eight plastic surgeries at once — a decision she says was part of a much deeper spiritual and emotional transformation.
Sussane, a longtime real estate broker and mother of two, began her journey at age 68. She adopted a plant-based diet, hired a personal trainer, and ultimately lost more than 100 pounds.
“It was almost 30 years that I had not taken care of my body,” she admitted. Before that, she says, she had fallen into “really deep depression” and lived a sedentary lifestyle “for a number of decades.” Her transformation, she explains, was about thanking her body and celebrating it for “not giving up” on her.

During this process, she discovered Dr. Carl Truesdale — a California-based plastic surgeon and founder of Artisa Skincare, known for dramatic transformations and a massive social-media presence.
“There’s got to be something to this,” Sussane remembers thinking. Plastic surgery had never crossed her mind before; her physical appearance wasn’t a motivating factor in her wellness journey. But something shifted. She felt drawn to the idea and decided to follow that instinct.
“I’m thinking, ‘Oh, how is this all going to happen?’ But I said, ‘Yes.’ I put it out in the universe because once you speak your word, it’s not any of my business how it unfolds… I just kept moving forward,” she said.
Ironically, she almost didn’t choose Dr. Truesdale: he wasn’t available on her preferred dates. But what was supposed to be his vacation suddenly shifted, and he ended up being in town — a coincidence that made everything fall perfectly into place.
With that, Sussane committed to eight procedures in a single session. She underwent a deep plane facelift, neck lift, lip lift, upper blepharoplasty, fat transfer from her inner thighs to her hands and face, an eyebrow lift, lower blepharoplasty, and a laser treatment.
The operation lasted eight hours, followed by 90-minute oxygen treatments for three days.
For reference, she gave Dr. Truesdale a photo of herself at age 28. In her words, he managed to capture “who I was at that time.” But she insists the goal wasn’t to go back in time: “Was I trying to get back there? It wasn’t like, ‘Oh, I have to be that age again.’ I really love who I am.”
Today, she sees — and feels — a massive difference. Her inner and outer glow-ups, she says, have evolved together.
“I’ve always been very confident, but I love what I see now,” she told People.
