70s Dreamboat Shaun Cassidy Announces Exciting North American Tour

Shaun Cas­sidy is return­ing to the spot­light with a big and excit­ing new music tour. Now 66, the for­mer ‘70s teen idol revealed that he will embark on a jour­ney to fifty cities for his tour, The Road to Us, which will kick off on Sep­tem­ber 13 at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry, bring­ing his music and sto­ry­telling to fans across North Amer­i­ca.

Cas­sidy made this announce­ment on social media, where he shared a pho­to of him­self walk­ing near a vin­tage dri­ve-in the­ater, dressed casu­al­ly in a black shirt and jeans, gui­tar slung over one shoul­der, and ros­es in hand. Fans quick­ly respond­ed with excite­ment, many eager to see the singer, song­writer, and pro­duc­er return to the stage after years of work­ing behind-the-scenes.

The 66-year-old first rose to fame as a teen idol in the ’70s with sin­gles and TV appear­ances that made him a house­hold name. But while his ear­ly fame was built on pop star­dom, Cas­sidy has carved out anoth­er image of him­self. Hence, The Road to Us feels like a long-over­due reunion for him and his long­time fans.

Over the past two decades, he has writ­ten and pro­duced for tele­vi­sion, includ­ing serv­ing as an exec­u­tive pro­duc­er on the NBC dra­ma New Ams­ter­dam. How­ev­er, as his career shift­ed behind the cam­era, Cas­sidy nev­er left music entire­ly behind. He blend­ed songs with per­son­al sto­ries and humor in his con­certs, and fans enjoyed the warmth.

Cassidy’s fam­i­ly has always played a cen­tral role in his life and iden­ti­ty. Being the son of The Par­tridge Fam­i­ly’s Shirley Jones and the half-broth­er of the late David Cas­sidy, Shaun Cas­sidy often hon­ors them as his roots in enter­tain­ment.
