Brendan Fraser and The Mummy Cast Reunite 26 Years After Film’s Release

The 1999 film raked in more than $400 mil­lion at the box office

The Mum­my cast had a major reunion near­ly 30 years after the block­buster movie was made.

Bren­dan Fras­er (Rick O’Con­nell), Patri­cia Velásquez (Anck-Su-Namun), John Han­nah (Jonathan Car­na­han) and Oded Fehr (Ardeth Bay) were pho­tographed togeth­er at the 2025 Fan Expo Den­ver on July 6, 26 years after the adven­ture film hit the­aters in 1999.

Notice­ably absent from the pho­to opp was Rachel Weisz (Eve­lyn Car­na­han) and Arnold Vosloo (Imhotep a.k.a. The Mum­my).

In a post shared to Insta­gram by Screen­Thrill, fans went wild at the sight of some of their favorites back togeth­er again. 

“The mum­my is one of the most under­rat­ed action adven­ture films in the last 30 years! Just a clas­sic,” one per­son wrote

Anoth­er added, “The Mum­my and Mum­my Returns are two of my favorite adven­ture movies of all time!”

One even raved about how Fehr, 54, still seemed to chan­nel his debonair char­ac­ter almost three decades lat­er, writ­ing, “Oded’s hair & beard are still Glo­ri­ous.”

Set in 1925, Fras­er, 56, and Weisz, 55, starred as leads Rick and Eve­lyn, also known as “Evie,” a dash­ing adven­tur­er and explor­er teamed with an Egyp­tol­o­gist, respec­tive­ly

The unlike­ly pair must race against the clock to save all of human­i­ty after tomb hunters unwit­ting­ly set loose a 3,000-year-old venge­ful rein­car­na­tion of an Egypt­ian priest.

They were joined by Evelyn’s old­er broth­er Jonathan, and Ardeth, a chief mem­ber of the Med­jai, descen­dants of the roy­al body­guards of sev­er­al pharaohs of Egypt.

The hit film, which made more than $400 mil­lion at the box office, was an update of the 1932 clas­sic film, and made way for two sequels — 2001’s The Mum­my Returns and 2008’s Tomb of the Drag­on Emper­or.

There was also a 2017 The Mum­my rebootwhich starred Tom Cruise. Unfor­tu­nate­ly for the Mis­sion Impos­si­ble movie star, 63, his ver­sion did not live up to its pre­de­ces­sors.

The con­ver­sa­tion report­ed­ly began when the Bedaz­zled star was asked about Universal’s attempts to build the Dark Uni­verse with 2017’s The Mum­my and 2020’s The Invis­i­ble Man, and if there could ever be a crossover between the two.

I real­ly don’t know. I know Tom Cruise tried to make his movie and it ain’t easy! We all know how hard this movie is to make…” Fras­er said onstage while seat­ed with Han­nah, Velásquez and Fehr.

The Oscar win­ner added, “With the excep­tion of three [The Mum­my: Tomb of the Drag­on Emper­or], the thing with all of these films is that, at least it was fun, it was a thrill ride, and you want­ed to do it again.”

“The answer is you’ve just got to give every­body what they real­ly, real­ly want,” Fras­er said.
