Prince Harry Turns 41: Meghan Markle Shares Sweet Throwback in His Honor

Birthday with Meghan’s Sweet Tribute

Prince Harry rang in his 41st birthday on Monday, Sept. 15, and Meghan Markle marked the occasion in her signature heartfelt — and slightly cheeky — style. The Duchess of Sussex shared a throwback snap of her husband on Instagram, taken a decade ago during his 31st birthday visit to Goodwood Aerodrome in 2015, when he commemorated the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

In the photo, Harry wears a green jumpsuit emblazoned with the name “Harry Wales,” the surname he and his brother Prince William used throughout school and their military service, derived from their father King Charles’ former title as Prince of Wales.

Alongside the photo, Meghan, 44, playfully captioned: “Oh hi, Birthday Boy 🔥” — a message that quickly drew love from fans who adore the couple’s modern, affectionate approach to royal life.

Since launching her Instagram account earlier this year, Meghan has used the platform to celebrate milestones and share glimpses of her family life — from Father’s Day tributes to Harry, to birthday wishes for their children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4. In February, she even posted a romantic Valentine’s Day message alongside a black-and-white snapshot of the couple kissing, writing:

“Back home taking care of our babies, and missing my Valentine, as he continues on at the Invictus Games, changing lives and reminding all of us of the power of healing and resilience through these incredible veterans and their families. Beyond proud of my husband and what he’s created.”

The Duchess sweetened her words with a promise of forever: “My love, I will eat burgers & fries and fish & chips with you forever. Thank you for you.” She closed with the hashtag #lovewins, a nod to her 2018 royal wedding speech, and signed off as “As ever, M” — foreshadowing her lifestyle brand, As Ever.

Prince Harry and Meghan married in May 2018 and welcomed their son, Archie, a year later. Their daughter, Lilibet, was born in June 2021 after the couple stepped back from royal duties and moved to California.

Most recently, Meghan supported Harry at the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025, the seventh edition of the adaptive sports competition he founded in 2014 for wounded, injured, and sick service members and veterans. Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE at the Games, Harry shared how much Meghan’s presence means to him and how their time in Canada — where their love story began — feels like a full-circle moment.

With Meghan’s latest birthday tribute, it’s clear the couple continues to write their own chapter filled with love, resilience, and partnership, far beyond palace walls.
