Army Commander Suspended Over Missing Photos of Trump Administration Officials at Fort McCoy
Col. Sheyla Baez Ramirez, the garrison commander of Fort McCoy in Wisconsin, has been suspended following the absence of official photographs of President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on the base’s chain-of-command display. Fox News

The U.S. Army Reserve Command stated that the suspension is “not related to any misconduct” and that the matter is currently under review. Col. Baez Ramirez, who assumed command in July 2024, was the first female garrison commander in the base’s history.

The issue came to light after images circulated on social media showing the chain-of-command board with empty frames where the photos of Trump, Vance, and Hegseth would typically be displayed.
The Department of Defense has initiated an investigation into the matter. Col. Baez Ramirez has not publicly commented on her suspension.

This incident adds to a series of recent controversies involving the military and the current administration. Notably, former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley’s portrait was removed from the Pentagon shortly after Trump’s inauguration in January 2025. Wikipedia
