Chilling Photo of Six Friends Goes Viral After Viewers Notice a ‘Seventh Face’

What should have been a wholesome group photo of six friends on a hiking trip in Chile has instead left the internet unsettled — thanks to what looks like a mysterious seventh face lurking in the background.
At first glance, the picture appears harmless: six smiling hikers posing together against a lush green backdrop, with other walkers scattered in the distance. But a closer look reveals something that doesn’t quite belong. Between two women on the left side of the frame, a pale face seems to peek through the gap — as if photobombing from another world.
The chilling detail first surfaced on Reddit’s r/whenyouseeit thread, and the reactions were instant.
“I am not exaggerating when I say that when I finally saw it, I got goosebumps and felt genuine fear. What the f***. I believe in ghosts again now,” one shocked user admitted.
Another wrote: “My dumba** was looking at the red thing in the bottom left corner. I was like, ‘Uhhh, looks like someone was just cut out of the pic…’ Then BOOM, I saw it. Runs to hide under the covers.”
A third added simply: “That is the creepiest thing! I did not expect that!”
Creepy Illusion or Paranormal Proof?
Skeptics, however, weren’t convinced it was anything supernatural. Some suggested it could be a simple case of optical illusion, shadows, or a hidden friend blending into the background.
“It’s just a person also in the group, with their face obscured by shadow between the two women, made creepier by the blue filter,” one user explained. “You can even see the top of their head catching daylight normally.”
But for many others, the eerie face felt far too out of place to dismiss. “It gave me chills, for sure,” another Redditor confessed. “Usually, I just laugh these things off or assume the photo is doctored … but not this time. It looks like something — or someone — that doesn’t belong there.”

Whether it’s just a trick of light, an unlucky angle, or something more sinister, one thing is certain: once you spot that seventh face, it’s impossible to unsee it. And maybe that’s what makes the photo so haunting — the possibility that sometimes, even in the happiest snapshots, something else is watching.
