Born on May 16, 1973, in Kyazan­ga, Lwen­go Dis­trict, Ugan­da, Bagu­ma faced sig­nif­i­cant chal­lenges from birth. His moth­er aban­doned him short­ly after birth, report­ed­ly stat­ing that he did not appear to be a nor­mal child. He was sub­se­quent­ly raised by his grand­moth­er, who pro­vid­ed him with love and care. Despite the chal­lenges posed by his con­di­tion, Bagu­ma’s fam­i­ly remains his pil­lar of strength.
