Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon Celebrate 37 Years of Marriage with an ‘Exciting’ Game of Cornhole

Gotta be open to trying new things!,” Bacon said while sharing a video of the couple competing at cornhole

Kevin Bacon revealed that he and wife Kyra Sedgwick indulged in a little competition to celebrate their 37th wedding anniversary

In the video he shared, Sedgwick could be seen hitting the target several times as he celebrated with her by dancing on the field and cheering her on

The two actors met while filming PBS’ Lemon Sky and wed in 1998 before welcoming two children, Travis and Sosie

Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon are showing people that a little competition makes for a happy marriage

The Footloose actor, 67, revealed how he and The Closer star, 60, celebrated their 37th marriage anniversary — and shared that it involved a little friendly face-off in front of a cornhole board.

People ask how we keep things exciting after so many years together… Gotta be open to trying new things!,” Bacon wrote alongside a video on Instagram showing him and Sedgwick facing off at a game of cornhole.

The actress clearly had the upper hand, as she could be seen landing at least two bean bags into the center of the cornhole board. When she won, she danced around and hugged her husband, who congratulated her.

I think it’s better if we’re both on the same side. I think it’s better for our marriage. I think it’s better for everything,” Sedgwick could be heard saying in a voiceover at one point as she walked over to him

As for the Sirens actor, he didn’t land quite as many shots, but he took it in stride. He still high-fived his wife and danced with her in the middle of the field between sets. Sedgwick also made sure to cheer him on as he took his turns.

At the end of the video, the actress celebrated her win, telling the camera: “That’s enough of that silliness. I won! I just want it to be clear, I won by a lot. I won by a landslide. I won by a cornhole.”

Bacon concluded his post, writing, “Happy anniversary, @kyrasedgwickofficial.”

The two actors, who met while filming PBS’ Lemon Sky and wed in 1998, are no strangers to sharing fun glimpses into their relationship on social media. The pair even hilariously hopped on the “throwing a fit” TikTok trend last month, with Bacon joking that he “was late” to the airport because “Kyra was throwing a fit” —which included a shirt with Bacon in his breakout role as Ren McCormack in Footloose.

Over the years, the couple has dropped several gems in terms of relationship advice — and it’s a common question the couple gets, as Sedgwick previously told PEOPLE in 2020.

We do. I joke that the secret to a successful marriage is to not take marriage advice from celebrities. I guess if I had to think too much about [our marriage], that would probably not be a good thing. We just got lucky. I honestly believe that’s truth,” she said

Jokes and luck aside, she shared one lesson: “That thing people do, ‘If only I had this, if only I had that … ’ There has to be some piece of wholeness that is within yourself before you can let somebody love you the way that you need to be loved.”
