Prince Harry Concludes U.K. Trip After Emotional Meeting with King Charles: ‘Happy to Be Home’
The Duke of Sussex wrapped up his visit to the United Kingdom with an inspiring appearance at a youth mental health event hosted by The Diana Award on Thursday, Sept. 11.

A spokesperson for Prince Harry, 40, confirmed that he had deeply valued his time back in England — a visit that combined charitable engagements, emotional speeches, and a long-awaited reunion with his father, King Charles, after nearly 19 months apart.
“Harry has obviously loved being back in the U.K., reconnecting with old friends, colleagues, and supporting the incredible work of the causes that matter so much to him,” the spokesperson shared.
On the morning following his reunion with the King, Harry was seen in high spirits at The Diana Award event. He warmly greeted young charity supporters with high-fives, laughed during a panel conversation, and delivered a heartfelt speech honoring his late mother, Princess Diana.
“My mother believed in the power and agency of young people to positively impact the world. The Diana Award continues her legacy by putting young people at the heart of everything they do,” Harry told the crowd. “Today is a perfect example of that. My message to everyone is: don’t stand still, don’t stay silent — make them hear you, because you speak for the majority.”
The Diana Award remains one of the few initiatives that both Prince Harry and his brother, Prince William, support, despite their ongoing estrangement. The brothers continue to appear — though separately — at events recognizing youth who are changing their communities worldwide.

The event followed a significant private reunion with King Charles the day before. Harry was seen arriving at Clarence House at 5:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 10, staying for nearly an hour. Buckingham Palace later confirmed that the King and his son shared tea together, though no further details were provided. The Palace, as well as Harry’s team, emphasized that the meeting was private.

Later that evening, Harry attended a London reception for the Invictus Games. When asked by a reporter about his father, he responded briefly but warmly: “He’s great, thank you.”
During his packed schedule, the Duke of Sussex also traveled to Nottingham on Tuesday, where he made a generous $1.5 million donation to the children’s charity Children in Need. Earlier in the week, on Monday, he attended the WellChild Awards in London, where he delivered another moving address celebrating the resilience of children and families facing severe health challenges.
With his U.K. visit now concluded, Harry leaves behind renewed connections, poignant memories, and a reminder of the enduring legacy of Princess Diana — carried forward through both his words and his work.
