RFK Jr. Trolls Donald Trump with a “Thanksgiving Dinner” That Wasn’t Quite What It Seemed

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. gave his followers a good laugh this Thanksgiving — and perhaps left Donald Trump doing a double-take.

The 71-year-old Health Secretary took to X (formerly Twitter) to wish his one million followers a happy holiday. Along with his message, he shared what appeared to be a wholesome snapshot of himself enjoying Thanksgiving dinner aboard Air Force One alongside Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Elon Musk, and House Speaker Mike Johnson.

The table was filled with turkey, Brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes, and other Thanksgiving classics — a perfect symbol of political unity over comfort food. But there was just one problem: the picture wasn’t real.

The “Thanksgiving Feast” That Was Actually McDonald’s

Within minutes, followers noticed that Kennedy’s photo was, in fact, an edited version of a 2024 image originally posted by Don Jr. In that version, the powerful group was eating McDonald’s — not turkey.

The men were in the same seats, wearing the same clothes, with the same expressions. The only things that had changed were the food on the table and Don Jr.’s large McDonald’s fries, which were replaced with a neat slice of pie.

RFK Jr. himself was originally pictured eating McDonald’s with a Coke, looking noticeably out of place for a man known for his strict health and diet habits. His “new” post replaced the fast food with a much more Kennedy-appropriate bowl of stuffing and a proper Thanksgiving spread.

The post immediately went viral. Some called it “the healthiest trolling ever served,” while others said Kennedy “photoshopped himself into the Thanksgiving he deserved.”

A Throwback to Barefoot Deep-Frying

This isn’t the first time RFK Jr. has stolen attention over a Thanksgiving meal.

Last year, the health-conscious Republican posted a video showing himself deep-frying a turkey barefoot, using beef tallow instead of traditional oil.

“This is the dangerous part,” he warned in the clip as the bubbling fat sizzled, with his wife, actress Cheryl Hines, appearing in the background to politely decline a taste.

Moments later, Kennedy triumphantly lifted the golden-brown turkey out of the pot, smiling and declaring, “That’s going to be delicious.”

The video quickly went viral for its unusual combination of rustic charm and apparent disregard for safety footwear. Health officials, of course, do not recommend deep-frying turkeys — let alone doing so barefoot.

“Poison on Air Force One”

The Thanksgiving photo prank also fits neatly into Kennedy’s ongoing criticism of Donald Trump’s diet.

During a past interview on The Joe Polish Show, RFK Jr. revealed that he once had to eat McDonald’s while traveling with the former president.

“The stuff he eats is really, like, bad,” Kennedy said, describing campaign meals as “just poison.”
“On that airplane, it’s Big Macs or KFC — that’s all you get.”

As part of his Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) initiative, Kennedy has repeatedly vowed to take on foods containing additives, pesticides, and synthetic chemicals — many of which he claims can lead to chronic illness and obesity.

He’s specifically called out fast-food ingredients such as dextrose (a sugar derived from corn or wheat that can disrupt glucose levels and promote insulin resistance) and xanthan gum, a thickening agent known to cause bloating and digestive discomfort.

“Campaign food is always bad,” Kennedy said, “but the food that goes onto that airplane is just poison.”

From Fast Food to Fast Trolling

Whether you view his post as political shade or a bit of lighthearted Thanksgiving fun, there’s no denying RFK Jr. knows how to make headlines — and a meme.

The photoshopped dinner was equal parts satire and symbolism: a jab at fast food culture, a nod to his healthy-living crusade, and perhaps a subtle reminder that not all political feasts are what they appear to be.

As one user cleverly commented under his post:

“When you can’t change the menu, change the image.”

And this Thanksgiving, that’s exactly what RFK Jr. did.
