RHOC’s Meghan King Loses Custody of Her 3 Children After CPS Investigation
Meghan King, former star of The Real Housewives of Orange County, has reportedly lost custody of her three children following a Child Protective Services investigation, according to multiple outlets.
King, 41, shares daughter Aspen, 8, and 7‑year-old twin sons Hart and Hayes with ex-husband and former MLB player Jim Edmonds. Us Weekly was first to report that Edmonds has been granted sole physical custody, while King now has supervised visitation. The decision is temporary pending a court hearing scheduled for early December.

CPS Called After School Employee Raises Concern
According to TMZ, the case began when a school employee contacted Child Protective Services about King. That report triggered an investigation that ultimately led to the custody change within the last few months. The specific allegations have not been made public.
PEOPLE magazine notes it has not independently confirmed the reports. Edmonds’ representatives declined to comment, and King has not responded to requests.

A History of Turbulence Between King and Edmonds
King and Edmonds divorced in 2021 after a contentious separation that included allegations of infidelity, arguments over parenting, and several public disputes involving Edmonds’ now-wife, Kortnie O’Connor (now Kortnie Edmonds).
Just weeks ago, new friction surfaced when Us Weekly obtained police bodycam footage of a May incident at Edmonds’ Missouri home. In the video, King tells officers Edmonds has been “emotionally abusive,” while Kortnie accuses King of entering the couple’s home without permission and “causing a disturbance.”
Police confirmed King had been at the house multiple times that day. She told officers she was only attempting to drop off clothing for her daughter. No arrests were made, though Kortnie initially indicated she intended to press charges for harassment before later changing course.
Statement From Edmonds’ Representative
A representative for Edmonds rebutted King’s claims at the time, telling PEOPLE:
“As usual, Meghan is telling tales. Her and Jim barely communicate… Jim is an active and present father to all his children.”
The rep added that Edmonds has “always been willing to co-parent in a respectful and productive way,” and expressed concern that the conflict continues to affect the children most.

Looking Ahead
A judge will revisit the custody arrangement in early December, at which point the temporary order could be lifted, modified, or made permanent depending on the findings of the CPS investigation and any additional testimony.
For now, Edmonds retains sole physical custody of all three children, while King’s parenting time remains supervised — marking one of the most significant developments in the pair’s long and often public post-divorce battle.
