Speak­ing at an event ear­li­er this week, Omar described Kirk as a “hate­ful man” and blunt­ly told his sup­port­ers, “you’re full of s**t.”

The remarks quick­ly drew out­rage from Repub­li­cans and Kirk’s allies, who accused Omar of glo­ri­fy­ing his killing and dis­re­spect­ing his lega­cy.

In a pre­vi­ous inter­view with jour­nal­ist Meh­di Hasan on his Zeteo plat­form, Omar had sim­i­lar­ly con­demned GOP lead­ers’ respons­es to the assas­si­na­tion, again say­ing they were “full of s**t.”

Dur­ing that con­ver­sa­tion, she accused Rep Nan­cy Mace (R‑SC) of harass­ing polit­i­cal oppo­nents and said Trump had “incit­ed vio­lence against peo­ple like me.” Still, she acknowl­edged the bru­tal­i­ty of Kirk’s death, describ­ing the footage as “mor­ti­fy­ing” and adding, “You know, all I could think about was his wife, his chil­dren, that image is going to live for­ev­er.”

Trump calls for Ilhan Omar’s expulsion

Trump seized on Omar’s remarks to renew calls for her expul­sion from Con­gress. Speak­ing to reporters while aboard Air Force One, he said he sup­port­ed strip­ping her of com­mit­tee assign­ments.

“She’s from SOMALIA! These peo­ple come from a place with NOTHING, and then they tell us how to run our coun­try.”
