43-Year-Old Joanna Gaines Shows Off Fit Bikini Bod In New Instagram Video

Joan­na Gaines recent­ly showed off her fit biki­ni bod in a new Insta­gram video. She and hus­band Chip Gaines recent­ly cel­e­brat­ed their 18th wed­ding anniver­sary with a trip to Mex­i­co. “18 years. Thank­ful to be on this adven­ture with you—happy anniver­sary,” she cap­tions the video, which was a mon­tage of pho­tos and videos from their trip.

One clip shows Joan­na falling back­wards into a pool, and fans couldn’t help but notice how great she looked in that biki­ni – five kids lat­er!. “🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥,” one per­son com­ments. Anoth­er writes, “Hap­py anniver­sary you dream team pow­er cou­ple!!💛💛 we love you!”

Joan­na has a fit biki­ni bod, five kids lat­er! How does she do it?

Even with her big fam­i­ly and new TV net­work, she still makes the time to work out and stay fit. But, that per­spec­tive of “stay­ing fit” has changed a lot over the years as well. “When I was in my twen­ties, work­ing out was some­thing I did as a part of my dai­ly rou­tine,” she pre­vi­ous­ly shared in an Insta­gram post. “As I think back to my inten­tions on work­ing out then- they were based sole­ly on the idea of look­ing good on the exte­ri­or- in fact it was prob­a­bly more of an obses­sion than a habit at the time. It wasn’t healthy.”

She con­tin­ues, “So from age 27 to now 37 I did not work out bc of the pres­sure I felt that was asso­ci­at­ed with it. Only until recent­ly has my mind­set com­plete­ly changed- I got a fresh idea of what health real­ly means and it starts from the inside out. My heart, mind and body need to be strong for the tasks set before me. This new healthy mind­set takes the pres­sure off and makes work­ing out enjoy­able and more prac­ti­cal for this sea­son.”

These days, Joan­na does a vari­ety of work­outs, rang­ing from tread­mill time to strength train­ing. “Sim­ply 20 min­utes packed with squats, arm work­outs, sprints, and row­ing,” she says. “I’ve found that it helps my mood, it helps stress lev­els, and it’s fun.”

She also tries to keep up a healthy diet with lots of fresh pro­duce. “I’ve got this huge gar­den in the back where we all eat all of our food, all of our leafy greens, our veg­gies, our fruits, come from that gar­den,” she tells Health. “For the most part I just try to eat a lot of pro­tein dur­ing the day and then not too many carbs or I will crash at and not make it.”
